Hi I’m Dan Richards and I’ve always had a passion for birds and wildlife for as long as I can remember with my main passion being birds and bird watching.
My project
I decided back in 2018 I would attempt to create my own Swift colony on my house and it was in August I made my first few boxes. Then from there it has become a passion of mine and after my first pair taking ironically the very first box I made in 2019, I have added more and more boxes to the eaves with 23 in total and space for 26 pairs.
So I created this page for me to document my journey and to keep a record of each season as they pass and hopefully give others inspiration or hope that with a little bit of effort we can make a difference to these amazing birds that are in decline.
